Is there a link ? 
Many in the medical community would have us believe there is no link between diet, nutrition and the condition of our skin. Since the skin requires nutrients, vitamins, amino acids, water, and essential fatty acids for optimum condition; and the body also requires the same nourishment it seems almost impossible there is not scientific proof of a link. The strange looking creature in the picture is called Demodex folliculorum, it's a mite, a tiny microorganism that lives on the faces of most adults. Some people have thousands of these organisms living in their hair follicles and sebaceous glands. The story of the Demodex and its interaction with our skin is an interesting one that for months had me a little "bugged out". | ||||
