
Witch Hazel (Hamamelis virginiana)
Walnut Oil (Juglans nigra):
Pressed from the nut of the walnut tree. Walnut oil is high in linoleic acid and helps to regenerate and moisturize damaged dry skin.
Wheat Germ Oil, Unrefined (Triticum vulgare):
Cold-pressed, unrefined Wheat Germ Oil has the highest Vitamin E content of any vegetable or nut oil, with 250 IU per ounce. It is also rich in vitamins A and D, lecithin, proteins and unsaturated fatty acids, making it highly skin compatible and nourishing. When added to skin care lotions and creams, it will help prevent moisture loss from the skin, and will extend the shelf life of skin care and cosmetic products.
Whole Milk (Milk):
Milk has been used in skin care and cosmetics for thousands of years. Milk powder is used to make milk baths, bath bombs, milk soaps and even lotions. It is a natural emollient, rich in vitamins and minerals, that soothes and moisturizes the skin and helps relieve dryness and itchy skin.
Willow Bark (Salix nigra):
Willow was one of the first herbs to be scientifically
investigated. Some of the cosmetic benefits of Willow Bark are the
enhancement of skin cell turnover to improve the health and appearance
of photo-aged skin, antimicrobial activity against acne makes it a good
candidate for skin care products and it also imparts the same
properties when used in hair care products.
Witch Hazel Distillate (Hamamelis virginiana):
Witch Hazel is a tall, deciduous shrub or small tree. Leaves and bark have served mostly to make astringent preparations used externally as a rinse for skin irritations, bruises, varicose veins and minor burns. Witch Hazel is soothing and anti-inflammatory, anti fungal and anti-bacterial. A wonderful skin toner and also a free radical scavenger recommended for anti-aging treatments. It has been said that Witch Hazel distillate is the most antioxidant of the hydrosols and is recommended for psoriasis, eczema, cracked or blistered skin, for treating insect bites, and as the treatment of choice for varicose veins and hemorrhoids. This is not the same Witch Hazel you can purchase at your local drug store, it contains no alcohol and is pure from the distillation process.
